Lensed Night Sky Update - 09/23/2026

Now that Touhou Lensed Night Sky, Kaseigai has been released for some time, I want to clarify our future plans. Right now, we are considering LNS to be content-complete, with a handful of outstanding bugs we plan to address, as we have been, in the next whatever amount of time. For the last few years, we have primarily branded ourselves as the "LNS devs", but we have a lot of other things we would like to make! The majority of which isn't really Touhou-related. To make it clear, our group, Fire Land (it's in the @ on our socials!), is made up of two permanent people. Aeon (that's me!), and Anumania. LNS has been our big project for the last good few years, and we want to take it easy and make some smaller-scale things for a bit. You can expect a number of those sorts of projects to be announced in the next few months. Weird stuff in random genres. Over the course of LNS' development, we've had a lot of ideas that we've held off on for the sake of staying focused. Now, we're closer to having the space to try them out. Although, these smaller projects are just the preamble, to us. Something big is planned. It has been being planned for a long time. But hey, that's gonna be a bit. Frankly speaking, we don't have the moolah for that yet. That's part of why we're going for smaller stuff right now. Anyway, if you aren't interested in our future projects, we still have something for you. Translations for LNS are well-underway, and we hope to have multiple new languages within a few months! Additionally, as a consequence to how we've chosen to implement translations, we're hoping to have workshop support soon after. So you wanna make some items? Danmaku?? New playable characters?? An entire new campaign!?!?!?!? Bada bing, all on the table, supposing things go well. Speaking of new content, who remembers "max score"? Am I right? For those that weren't around when we originally talked about it, it was always in the plans to have an achievement for reaching "max score", that is, getting every achievement in a single run. Currently, the highest score-related achievement is for 100 score. Those who have done the 100 score achievement would be able to tell you that, as things stand, a max score achievement would be very unpleasant to obtain. There are a number of features, both on the technical side and within items that were cut for the 1.0 release, that we believe makes it a very cool journey, but aren't in the game right now. While we would like to finish these features and bring back the max score achievement, along with over a dozen items and other achievements that would go with the experience, doing so isn't in our plans at the moment. It's sorta a "when we're financially stable" thing, like the next big project. Except also making the same game for years has left us with a bit of weariness; I'm not super rearing to make the last few items right now, but surely in time. I still might filter in a thing or two sometimes like what happened with Dharma of Deiniol. Also check out the new project announcement!
